We believe that food is medicine. We also believe that physicans should model healthy and sustainable food systems.
Sellwood Family Medicine is now in our fifth season of growing organic fruit and vegetables. This year's crop included heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, rhubarb, kale, chard, onions, garlic, shallots, peppers, lettuce, snap peas, cilantro, basil, raspberries, strawberries, apples and peaches. Medicinal herbs are also scattered throughout.
Patients are welcome to explore the garden and even sample any fruit and vegetable crops. In the summer the garden evolves into an extension of our waiting room!
