Leigh Ann was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She is a big time Auburn fan! She received her bachelor of science from Tulane University. After working for two years with a midwife in Kauai, Hawaii, she pursued her medical degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. She now lives in Portland, Oregon and enjoys surfing, ultimate frisbee, cooking and gardening.
Dr. Leigh Ann Chapman provides comprehensive care for all aspects of family medicine. She has a special focus in pediatric developmental and psychiatric disorders. She provides integrative management of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, sensory integration disorders, ADHD, OCD, depression and anxiety. Dr. Chapman blends cutting edge biomedical protocols with conventional therapies to provide the most comprehensive plan for each and every child.
Leigh Ann is an advocate and activist for the autism community serving on the board of the Autism Society of Oregon. She also serves on the editorial review committee for the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
Dr. Chapman is currently involved in clinical research on autism. Her current research involves the assessment of superficial sensory nerve fibers in the skin of autistic children and aromatherapy for pre- procedural anxiety. Her past research participation has included glutathione replacement, Intranasal oxytocin and Vitamin D levels in families of children with autism.
